Grandmaster Pung Young Lee and Grandmaster Ray Minger met in South Korea almost 50 years ago. Since that time they have been determined to bring Traditional Tae Kwon Do to the United States.
Grandmaster began his Tae Kwon Do training during the Korean War as a young Child.
During High School and College Lee captained the Tae Kwon Do Team, And was a former champion. During his time in the ROK Army he taught hand to hand Combat. After his service he attended HanYang University in Seoul and gradulated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Lee is active in the Korean Community and his Church. He is married and has two sons that are Black Belts. Grandmaster Lee currently holds a 9th Degree Black Belt.
Grandmaster Ray Minger earned his Black Belt in 1965 in Korea while stationed with the U.S. Army. Previouslly he had studied Shotokan, Kyukoshin Kai, Army, and Marine Martial Arts. Upon his discharge from the Army he opened one of the first Tae Kwon Do Schools on the East Coast.Minger recieved hi B.A. from LaSalle University and his M.E. from Temple University. He spent 30 years as a History Teacher in the Bensalem School District. After retirement he continued to teach History as a long term Substitute in area Catholic, Private and Alternative Schools. Minger is married and has four adult children and seven grandchildren. He currently holds a 7th Degree Black Belt.
